The newest issue of a new Shade of Enigma series is an exclusive version of a well-known Ukrainian silver coin depicting Archangel Michael. Struck from 1 oz silver .999 UNC, the coin is a unique combination of black and gold: it’s plated with black ruthenium and 24K gold! The issue limit is 2 000 pieces.
The obverse features the emblem of the National Bank of Ukraine as its centerpiece. There is also the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine and the following insciprions: ‘the National Bank of Ukraine’, the face value of the coin, its weight, metal fineness and issuing year.
To achieve the unusual black surface of the coin, it was coated with silver-gray ruthenium, one of the platinum metals that looks like platinum but is rarer. The reverse depicts Archangel Michael, who is considered to be the patron saint and protector of both Ukraine and Kiev, its capital. One of the most powerful and respected figures in many religious teachings, he’s mostly depicted as a warrior dressed in ancient, almost Roman attire, and armed with a sword. His name stands for "Who is like God?" and, like all Angels, he is able to embody the pure form of God's energy. The coin comes housed in a black luxury box accompanied by a numbered CoA with a special hologram on it.
