This glorious silver coin was created being inspired by the Fabergé Eggs. It is minted in fine silver and has an interesting elliptical shape. It was issued by Niue in 2019. The mintage is limited to 999 pieces for global distribution. Fabergé eggs are jeweled eggs which were created by the House of Fabergé, in St. Petersburg, Imperial Russia.
Primarily there were 69 eggs, but only 57 of them have survived until today. Indeed, almost all were manufactured under the watchful eye of Peter Carl Fabergé during 1885-1917. The most famous eggs are called "Imperial" eggs, and today only 46 of them have survived. They were specially made for the Russian Tsars Alexander III and Nicholas II as Easter gifts for their wives and mothers.
The eggs were each entirely unique and made from a range of materials, starting with three-colored gold and ending with rock crystal. They all were embellished with precious stones and gems, such as emeralds, pearls, or diamonds. Of course, Fabergé Eggs range in size and are often opened to reveal a surprise.
This coin is a luxurious treat for real connoisseurs!
