Imperial Art is a series of eight coins issued annually and dedicated to art, architecture and the achievements of the greatest civilizations and empires in history, and this is its second issue representing the world-known monuments of Egyptian civilization. Struck from 2 oz silver 999 antique finish, the coin possesses a beautiful insert – a yellow half-transparent citrine stone. With the mintage of only 500 pieces worldwide, the coin comes housed in a stylized wooden box with a certificate of authenticity inside.
The coin’s reverse features the detailed images of famous Egyptian landmarks: sphinx of the avenue of sphinxes from the Serapeum at Saqqara, the Pyramid of Cheops, Gate Temple of Khonsu, Osiris statues in front of Temple of Hatshepsut and the gate of the picture by Edward Poynter “Israel in Egypt”. The obverse includes the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II against the background of temple of Isis (Philae). The inscriptions denote the face value, name of the series, year and country of issue and metal composition.
