This amazing silver coin has been issued by the National Bank of Kazakhstan as a tribute to Attila, the king of the Huns, a non-Christian people based on the Great Hungarian Plain in the fifth century A.D. At its height, the Hunnic Empire stretched across Central Europe.

The obverse bears the State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the image of a warrior on a prancing horse. The inscriptions include the face value of the coin, its issuing year and the legend “Republic Of Kazakhstan” both in Kazakh and Russian separated by dots.

The coin is struck from 1 oz silver 925 proof; its reverse features a gilded image of an antique medallion with an image of Attila in the center. The medallion is surrounded by the stylized image of the warriors on galloping horses and the inscriptions of Attila’s name, years of life, the weight of the coin and its metal fineness. The worldwide mintage is 13 000 pieces (3 000 for internal market of Kazakhstan).
