The coin’s obverse features an amazing coloured image of wind rose coated with a laser made hologram. The wind rose is set against background depicting engraved sea chart. The State coat of arms of the Republic Belarus and the name of the issuing country are engraved at the top of the silver coin.
The reverse design depicts artistically crafted image of the largest and the most high-speed sailing vessel in the world –"The Sedov". It is depicted full face and from side view against background of a sea landscape. Over the years "The Sedov" has changed owners several times as well as the names. The bark’s purpose also was variable: it sailed as a cargo ship, and as training and oceanographic vessel. The bark was built in 1921, at the time it was the first vessel with engine and could easily cope in difficult sea conditions. "The Sedov" is listed in the "Guinness Book of Records" as the largest of the surviving sailing ships, in 2011the ship celebrated 90 years since its construction. At present, we can admire "The Sedov" ship during such event as international race of training sailing vessels –"The Tall Ships' Races", organized every year in the city of Szczecin.
