The ninth largest country in the world by land area, Kazakhstan is also the world's largest landlocked country located primarily in Asia with the smaller part being in Europe. The huge territory of Kazakhstan is extremely diverse ranging from flatlands, steppes, taigas, rock-canyons, hills, deltas, and snow-capped mountains to deserts. Ethnically and culturally diverse, Kazakhstan is home to 131 ethnicities.
