The $20 coin of .999 silver with Swarovski elements is dedicated to "Leda and the Swan", a painting by  Peter Paul Rubens. The worldwide mintage is quite symbolic – only 1601 pieces.

The obverse of the Cook Islands coin traditionally bears the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Along the rim of the silver coin, there are the inscriptions denoting the name of the Queen, the face value of the coin and the name of the issuing country.

The reverse of this gorgeous coin is embellished with a full-color reproduction of Leda and the Swan painting decorated on both sides with sixteen genuine Swarovski crystals. Painted in 1598-1602, this work of art features a motif from Greek mythology, in which Zeus appears to Leda in the likeness of a swan and seduces her. It was a popular subject depicted by both ancient Greek and Italian Renaissance artists. Leda is believed to be the daughter of Thestius, king of Aetolia, and wife of Tyndareus, king of Lacedaemon.
