The coin is packed in a patented dome capsule which locks the coin in a floating state. The capsule was specially designed to protect high relief coins and display their beauty at the same time. The coin is fixed between the top and bottom, which prevents it from moving inside the capsule.

This springbok was made exclusively for this coin issue. The details are so precise that one can even see each single wave on the animal’s horns! With its amazingly accurate eyes, ears and even body muscles, the springbok impresses regardless of viewing angles. There is also a Protea flower, the national flower of South Africa, in front of the animal. The blooms are also possible to see! To enrich the coin and emphasize its fine details, the springbok and the ground were plated with pure .999 gold. Some parts were then polished by hand.
