The new exciting series of silver coins by Tuvalu features the fictional ships from literature and folklore we have heard or read about but never seen in reality. This coin of .999 pure silver has been named after the Demeter from Bram Stoker’s horror story ‘Dracula’ and issued with the limited mintage quantity of 3 000 pieces worldwide.

The obverse of the Tuvalu coin displays the effigy of Her Majesty Elizabeth II. The inscriptions surrounding portrait include the Queen’s name, the face value of the coin, its metal fineness, issuing country and year.

The Demeter, peacefully floating on the water, is beautifully struck on the reverse of this silver coin. The cliff top Whitby Abbey surrounded by vampire bats is displayed in the background. According to the Stoker’s novel, the Demeter is the ship that carries the vampiric count from his castle in Transylvania to London. In one of the most haunting images from the book, the Demeter comes into port with absolutely no crew left alive. The inscription at the bottom of the coin indicates its name. The Demeter pure silver coin comes housed in a wooden case in the shape of a book and is sure to impress those collecting unique coins of high quality.
