The Velociraptor fossil on the reverse is intricate in detail, accurately realized and set on a natural looking background. The contrast between the silver fossil and the red-rock finish background is perfect – a visual force that attracts the eye. Velociraptor is a genus of predatory theropod dinosaur that lived approximately 75 to 71 million years ago during the later part of the Cretaceous Period. The type species is V. mongoliensis, fossils which have been discovered in Mongolia.
