This newly issued silver coin is dedicated to the Sable, or Martes Zibellina, and it’s the eighth issue of the immensely popular Wildlife Protection series started in 2007. Struck from 1 oz silver 999 antique finish, the coin possesses two large sapphire blue Swarovski elements inserted as the animal’s eyes. The amazing fur texture has been achieved thanks to smartminting high relief!
The obverse represents the composition which consists of the Bank of Mongolia emblem and several inscriptions indicating the face value of the coin, the rate of silver purity and the country of issue.
The reverse side is what makes all coins in the Wildlife Protection series unique. The coin designers took the maximal advantage of smartminting technology. The relief of the sable is absolutely amazing – it may even seem like you are touching the fur of a real animal! To intensify the impression the animal’s eyes are made of two shiny Swarovski crystals embedded into the reverse. This side of the coin also contains original legends denoting the name of the species, that of the series and the year of issue. All previous issues sold out!
