This coin is among those that won’t go unnoticed! The brand new Roman Gods series has started with an amazing 2 oz silver 999 piece minted in high relief with clearly outlined details of the Jupiter depiction. Issued with the mintage of only 500 pieces worldwide, each coin comes housed in a luxury wooden box with a CoA inside.
Unlike the traditional obverse of Niue coins, this one is enriched with relief ornaments and architectural pieces. There is also the effigy of Her Majesty Elizabeth II surrounded by the following inscriptions: the Queen’s name, the name of the coin, its face value, issuing country and year.
Minted in high relief, the reverse exposes the power of Jupiter and focuses on the details. Among the many gods of the Romans, Jupiter, the son of Saturn, was the supreme god, associated with thunder, lightning, and storms. He protected Rome in time of war and maintained the welfare of the people during peace. He was most often portrayed with a long, white beard, and his symbol was the eagle atop a scepter which he carried as he sat upon his majestic throne.
