This coin is devoted to an outstanding work of art which is known in any part of the world - Fabergé Eggs. These are priceless treasures that were specifically made for Royalty and some of the wealthiest families in the past. By the way, in 2020 we mark the 100th Anniversary of the passing of Peter Carl Fabergé. Peter Carl was a jeweler from Russia who is best known for creating the famous Fabergé Eggs that were made in the style of Easter eggs.
On the coin, the Apple Blossom Egg is depicted. It is one of Peter Carl most famous works. This Fabergé Egg was made for a very wealthy Russian industrialist named Alexander Kelch as a gift for his wife in 1901. As for the size, the Apple Blossom Egg is considered to be one of the largest Fabergé Eggs ever made. The given Fabergé Egg is also unique because it sits on its side instead of upright. It is so precious because stunning green jade, gold, silver, enamel, and diamonds were used for creating it.
In order to produce a coin worthy of this cultural icon, world-leading colorization techniques together with smart-minting high relief were used. This two oz silver proof is also selectively gilded to capture the intricate Apple Trees that are made out of gold on the original Fabergé Egg.
Unfortunately, none of you will be able to own the original, but you can own a piece of history by adding this incredible coin to your collection!
