We are delighted to present this sparkling silver piece by Solomon Islands dedicated to the half-ruined Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, one of Berlin's iconic buildings, originally constructed between 1891 and 1895 by architect Franz Schwechten. The special thing about this coin is the innovative application of the stunning hologram depicting the ancient Memorial Church. Struck from 1 oz silver 999 in proof quality, the coin has got the mintage of 1 000 pieces only.
The traditional obverse of a coin by the Solomon Islands features the effigy of Her Majesty Elizabeth ІІ. Among the inscriptions, there are: the Queen’s name, the face value of the coin, its issuing country and year.
On the beautifully illustrated reverse, one can see the relief image of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. At first glance the coin depicts a version of the famous Berlin landmark in it’s current state. When viewed from a different angle though, the reverse displays the missing parts to create an image of what the Church looked like when it was constructed. This new hologram technique is simply amazing!
