Comprising thirty-six islands, of which sixteen are inhabited, with a total landmass of 59 square miles, the British Virgin Islands lie 50 miles east of Puerto Rico, in the northeastern Caribbean Sea. Banana, mango and palm trees swaying gently in the warm tropical breeze and rugged mountain roads leading to spectacular views… Discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1493, the islands were named after Saint Ursula and her eleven thousand martyred virgins. Tourism and financial services are the mainstays of the BVI economy.
As a coin issuer, the British Virgin Islands are known for the Legendary Weapons series, the Great Pyramids High Relief collectible and charming Angel coins.
