Masterpieces in Stone is a brand new series of exquisite silver coins launched in 2013 by the Republic of Fiji. The first issue is dedicated to the 250th Anniversary of the Hermitage Museum, one of the largest and oldest museums in the world located in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Struck of 3 oz .999 fine silver, the Malachite Room coin measures 55mm and boasts unique design: elaborate high relief with antique finish complemented by a genuine malachite insert. It features the Malachite Room of the Winter Palace designed by the architect Alexander Brullov in the late 1830s. Considered a true gem of interior decoration, the room has got unique embellishments including columns, pilasters, fire-place trimmings and decorative vases made of malachite in the Russian mosaic technique.
Issued with the extremely limited mintage of only 999 pieces worldwide, the coin comes within a luxury box finely decorated with the utmost care for detail. An excellent work of art to enjoy!
